MEET OUR TEAM
Misty Johnson-Owner
I joined ILKB in 2020 and quickly developed a passion for fitness and kickboxing. After a short time as a member, I transitioned into an instructor role and later became the studio manager. At the end of 2023, I was presented with the opportunity to purchase the studio, and I eagerly embraced the chance to make it my own. Over the past year, we have continued to improve and evolve the studio, most recently rebranding as Knockout Fitness Evansville. My passion for fitness now extends beyond training to creating a positive, engaging environment where all members feel welcome, supported, and encouraged as they pursue their fitness goals.

I began my journey into boxing and kickboxing in 2018, and it was love at first punch! In July of 2022, I joined ILKB and immediately knew I had found my home. After about six months as a member, I stepped into the role of instructor—an opportunity that allows me to encourage, motivate, and uplift others every day. Teaching is more than just a job to me; it’s my passion and my chance to empower others to crush their fitness goals.

I was hooked from my first class in 2023! I love the environment, workout, and how it helps with stress. My husband and I run a skateboard shop and park, and the pressures of owning a business can be tough. I’m so glad that I found Knockout Fitness (formerly ILKB), nothing perks up my day like roundhouses and spinning backfists.

I joined ILKB in 2021 as a member and transitioned to instructor just a few short months later and have loved it ever since. I’m passionate about helping others crush their goals through fun and challenging workouts. My favorite move is the spinning backfist—lets kick some bag together!

I became a member of Knockout Fitness (formerly ILKB) in August 2020 and transitioned to instructing in February of 2022. It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. This has inspired me to work toward becoming a self-defense instructor as well. The beach is my ultimate peace spot, and I love martial arts and pizza!

I’m an instructor with over a year of experience throwing powerful punches and motivating others. I’m passionate about building a high-energy, explosive community like no other! When I’m off the mat, you can usually find me hanging out with my pup, Strawberry, or trying out new restaurants.
Mackenzie Merimee-Instructor
I joined as a member in October of 2023 and transitioned to an instructor in November of 2024. My favorite part of kickboxing is teaching all the different kicks. I love helping both new and experienced members build their confidence in kickboxing.
Allie Scales-Instructor
I've been teaching kickboxing here since March 2020. I am a certified Group Fitness Instructor and Personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise. I love the confidence boost that exercise gives me, and my goal is to help others feel better about themselves as well. When I'm not kickboxing or at the gym, I am spending time with my two little kids, my husband, and our four cats.
